So for the #saturdaynightcraftalong with @charmaboutyou tonight, I'm going to start cutting strips for this Big Kiss x4 quilt (pattern by @selfsewn ), which I mocked up in Photoshop. I've been day-jobbing today for rather a long time, so I'm not sure how long I'll last, especially when ironing the fabric in what is sweltering heat for Scotland 🥵🥵🥵

Did you catch our my wee studio tour yet? I joined up with a group fo friends to give you an unfiltered, unadulterated view of our creative areas. Be warned, we haven't tidied, but it may make you feel a bit better about any mess you've created while creating!

A we head into the weekend where I'll be day jobbing instead of sewing for a lot of the time (get your violins out now please!) I linked up with a bunch of friends to give you a virtual tour of where we create.  Check out everything from my teeny end of the living room to some truly awesome full rooms.  My video is up on my blog (link in profile) and you can check out my partners in crime below:

So a group of us, organised by Terry Atkinson and Gudrun Erla, have got together to give you a whistlestop tour of where we create. Just to set your expectations, this was done very last minute and unscripted (actually, this is video number 2, I ended up with a 20 minute one in rather more detail first time round! If anyone wants to see that, let me know...) There was no cleaning or tidying done for this, but the fact that my space is rather small and is in a high traffic area of my flat kind of forces me to be tidy-ish, otherwise I'd be swamped! It felt just like a normal bank holiday weekend here on Friday and Saturday with howling winds and pouring rain, so I felt not in the least bit guilty about staying inside and sewing (as opposed to cursing the nice weather and staying inside and sewing which I've been forced to do for the past couple of months lol) So I would maybe have finished 2 quilt tops this weekend, but I got distracted by pillow cases and sushi, so I have 1 top, 3 pillowcases, a good batch of sushi and bits of another quilt top. Well, I thought I was going to pull off a miracle in the form of a finished quilt top from last weekend - I have never in my life made a quilt top in a weekend, I should clarify, so why, given that I knew I had to spend a good chunk of Sunday in the kitchen batch making a few things, I thought I would have one now I don't know. Another strange bank holiday weekend in lockdown, and this week I also had a couple of TOIL days that I had to use, which seemed slightly ridiculous, but were quite nice to have nonetheless, in that I could go shopping at the relatively civil time of 9:30 am yesterday. I got to finish one quilt top, get another cut up, another small project completed, restocked the shop after the arrival of a huge order and cooked some lovely food, including a fab Thai red curry, which I'd never tried before, but which will definitely be going into rotation on the menu (not least because there's leftovers in the freezer, plus some leftover paste in the fridge!). I went stripey binding shopping at @flipflopfabricshop and some Heather Ross fell into my basket, don't you hate it when that happens? 🙈😳😂

This 5" x 6 1/2" log book was designed for you to keep alongside your machine(s) and contains an entry page to note the model, serial number and manufacture date, along with your own details if desired (a bit like being back at school, I felt like I ought to have 'Katy Cameron, U3Q' in there!) Regardless of the number of machines you have, it is handy to keep a reminder of when you serviced each Featherweight, both for your own purposes and for anyone who might inherit your machine(s) further down the line.
